Kuala Lumpur Sentral is an exclusive
urban center built around Malaysia’s
largest transit hub, offering global connectivity,
excellent investment opportunities, business
convenience and an international lifestyle.
At the nucleus of Kuala Lumpur Sentral
is the RM1.1 billion world-class transit
hub, Stesen Sentral. Its infrastructure
supports five networks, namely the exclusive
KLIA Express Rail Link, KLIA transit,
LRT, Monorail, KTM Komuter and Intercity
services. With direct connections to the
major arterial roads of Kuala Lumpur and
a number of major highways, the development
is well-placed for access within an integrated
and self- contained live, work and play
environment.
Formerly a marshalling yard for Keretapi
Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB), the emergence
of Kuala Lumpur Sentral began when the
Government awarded the privatization of
Stesen Sentral to Kuala Lumpur Sentral
Sdn Bhd, a consortium led by Malaysian
Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB), on
June 27, 1994. This plan was developed
to create a more efficient state-of-the-art
transportation hub and to improve the
traveling lifestyle of the urban population
and enhance public transport in Kuala
Lumpur through an integrated rail network.
A concession was the signed on August
18, 1997, whereby Kuala Lumpur Sentral
Sdn Bhd would build and surrender Stesen
Sentral to the Government, in exchange
for development rights over the surrounding
72-acre commercial land. |
