Bandar Seri Iskandar
(BSI) is a mammoth project in the heart
of the Kinta-Pangkor Corridor in Perak,
30 km from Ipoh, the capital and 30 km
from Lumut, the main seaport. It covers
5000 acres of commercial, residential,
industrial and recreational facilities.
It is accessible via Federal Route 5 which
is soon to be upgraded into a four-lane
dual carriageway.
BSI has now completed
the first phase development that covers
approximately 250 acres which includes
the affordable single and double storey
houses, commercial shop offices, the Sri
Iskandar Pharmaceutical Park as well as
the Taman Rekreasi Rakyat. They have delivered
some 850 units of houses. Also in the
pipeline are the development of bungalows,
semi-detached houses, shopping complexes,
a Agro-Tech Institutional Park, Golf Residential
Park, Homestead Water Park, Medical &
Health Resort, Motor Sport Centre and
Research and Development Centre.
BSI is more than just
a development project. It serves to open
up the Kinta-Pangkor Corridor, creating
jobs and business opportunities in rural
Perak. MRCB actively organises marketing
activities to attract multinationals to
set up plants for long-term economic growth
in the area. The total development will
be completed by 2020.
