Little India
MRCB Land was also awarded a project by the Ministry of Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing to develop a cultural enclave in Brickfields known as the Little India project. To be developed over two phases, the components include one of the tallest fountains in the country, a multi-storey Indian Bazaar, cultural arches, souvenir centres, a food court and a multi-storey car park.

The first phase of the project began in June 2010, with the construction of the 20,000 sq. ft. Temporary Hawker Centre located at the field on Jalan Chan Ah Tong. The Temporary Hawker Centre was completed by end July 2010, and houses 50 food stalls and 16 flower and two fruit stalls. The cultural elements to be completed in the first phase included the water fountain, food and fruit stalls and a cultural arch.

Phase 1 was completed on time for the official launch of the Little India project on 27 October 2010 by YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia and His Excellency Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India.

Phase 2 of the project involves the construction of the multistorey Indian Bazaar, car park, and food court. The project has been included as a tourism site and one of Malaysia’s heritage walks. Little India not only showcase the cultural and social diversity of Malaysia, but would also provides economic opportunities for the local community.

Eastern Dispersal Link Expressway (EDL)
The EDL is an 8.1 km expressway designed to disperse traffic from the main arterial roads in Johor Bahru. It will include a 4.4 km elevated structure that will link the new Customs, Immigration & Quarantine Complex (CIQ), known as Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (“BSI”) at Bukit Cagar, Johor with the North-South Expressway (“PLUS”) at Pandan Interchange. The concession period of the project is 34 years, inclusive of a four year construction period which commenced in mid-2008, with expected completion and operation by first half of 2012.

Section 1 Of Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE)
The 18km DUKE links the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) at Jalan Duta to the Middle Ring Road II (MRRII) at Ulu Kelang in the East and Batu Caves in the North. It features seven interchanges and four directional lamps with advanced Traffic Information and Management System (MIS), Variable Message Signs (VMS), Central Control & Monitoring System and Electronic Tolling.

Melaka Marina
Melaka Marina Complex offers up to 40 docking berths for both private and luxurious 40- to 60-footer yachts, an integrated government complex accommodating the immigration, customs and Marina Department Malaysia office, and a proper breakwater system to block and reduce wave height in the Marina.

Located off Jalan Taman Kota Laksamana and on the banks of the Melaka River, a prime waterfront spot, the RM24.3 million new marina complex, adds a distinctive icon alongside historical buildings and the “Eye on Malaysia Ferris Wheel” in Melaka for both tourists and the locals.

The new Marina is located in close proximity to both commercial and tourist attractions in Melaka city, the Marina Complex is well within distance to four and five-star hotel, shopping, and Melaka’s well known historical and tourist spots, further boosting its potential to complement the tourism industry.

Traffic Dispersal System for Brickfields, Bangsar and Kuala Lumpur Sentral CBD
MRCB was awarded the Traffic Dispersal System contract valued at RM110 million under the Government Stimulus Package Programme. The award contract covers the traffic dispersal system for Brickfields, Bangsar and Kuala Lumpur Sentral CBD under 5 packages.

Package 1 : Construction of flyover at Jalan Travers/Jalan Bangsar intersection.

Package 2 : Construction of flyover from Kuala Lumpur Sentral CBD to Jalan Damansara and Lebuhraya Mahameru.

Package 3 : Upgrading of Jalan Tun Sambanthan and its vicinity.

Package 4 : Construction of pedestrian bridges and linkages.

Package 5 : Upgrade and repair roads in Kuala Lumpur Sentral CBD.

Overall, Package 1 completed seven months ahead of schedule in 2010, followed by Package 2 and the rest by 2011.

LRT Lines
MRCB Engineering Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of MRCB will be constructing the facilities works that include fabrication and delivery of segmental box girders (Package B) for the Ampang Line and Kelana Jaya Line extension projects. The construction period for the works will be 30 months and 20 months from the commencement date respectively.

The Kelana Jaya Line project is expected to complete by 2013 and the segmental box girders (Package B) for the Ampang Line is to complete by 2014.
