MRCB is also focused on two main area of activities, mainly enviromental & conservation projects & infrastructure activities. Environment infrastructure at MRCB has always been centred towards two tangible focus areas – environment rehabilitation and infrastructure development.
A pilot project under the auspices of MRCB Environment Sdn. Bhd., this environment rehabilitation mission was the first of its kind in Malaysia and the Asian region. The chief concern is to restore and preserve the physical and natural environment of this Pahang coastal beach, using an innovative enviromentally friendly system called Pressure Equalisation Module (PEM).
The secondary objective is to maintain the state's reputation as a favoured tourism hotspot for local and foreign travellers alike.
Tekek-Tioman Rehabilitation Project
A beach, river and infrastructure rehabilitation project worth RM132 million that confronts environmental related issues with a total-solution scheme. This project provides environmental conservation and restoration services, undertaking coastal and river rehabilitation and protection works.
Kuala Sungai Pahang River Mouth Conservation Project
In July 2005, MRCB had received from the Federal Government of Malaysia an Interim Award and subsequently, submitted an interim proposal on design-and-build for the Kuala Sungai Pahang River Mouth Conservation project. The interim works include dredging of channels, disposal of dredged material as beach replenishment material (if suitable) and design-and-build of breakwater systems at the river mouth.
The project is to be developed in places up to the year 2012.
