On 26 May 2007, Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB), represented by its Group MD, En. Shahril Ridza Ridzuan presented a cheque amounting to RM30,000 to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia for the Persatuan Nelayan Kuala Pahang's Children's fund at the official launch of the Kuala Pahang Community Centre.
The donation forms part of MRCB's corporate social resposibility policy aimed at supporting the government's effort in eradicating hardcore poverty, and in pro-actively helping the community the company operates in.
MRCB was involved in the building of a wave breaker on the Kuala Pahang shoreline which will not only help prevent degradation of the shoreline to further erosion, but improve the Kuala Pahang river mouth from further silting. The project is aimed at rehabilitating and conserving the shoreline of Kuala Pahang.
The official launch of the Kuala Pahang Community Centre was organized by Caltex, and was attended by both the villagers and school children from the Kuala Pahang area. |
