Natural Disaster Relief/ Risk Reduction Management

Gotong-Royong At Teluk Kekek, Pulau Tioman

46 caring MRCB staff members participated in this three-day philanthropic trip. Besides fostering tighter relationships with local communities, this employee volunteer event has helped support the community’s environmental sustainability, volunteerism and community bonding activities.

Goodwill Initiatives

During the Ramadhan period, MRCB played a part in distributing festive giveaways, amongst which are contributions of food and cash to more than 20 poor families. Other notable gestures include contributing to the Pekan Fest 2007, Malaysian Flag Contribution, Cancerlink Foundation, Mercy Malaysia, and Persatuan Kebangsaan Pelajar Islam Malaysia. We have also provided relief for the Johor flood victims by donating to several charitable organisations.

Brickfields Community Outreach Programme

A mere fence line separates Kuala Lumpur Sentral from the vibrant community of Brickfields. In true neighbourhood spirit, MRCB has taken the initiative to reach out to this local landmark community.

With the objectives of building relationships and enriching the Brickfields community, MRCB launched the Brickfields Community Portal in early 2008. Based on key findings from 6 of the community’s most revered associations – namely, Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), Buddhist Maha Vihara Temple, La Salle Secondary School, Balai Polis Brickfields, The Malaysian Association of the Blind, and the Temple of Fine Arts – this website will utilise ICT as an efficient point-of-contact for all residents, authorities and organizations. As a facilitator, Kuala Lumpur Sentral will organise events, activities, forums and other people-oriented programmes to bring the community together.
